The 2023 Country Music Television (CMT) Awards have been announced, and some of the biggest names in country music have taken home top honors. The ceremony, which was held in Nashville, Tennessee, recognized the best artists, albums, and songs in the country music genre.
One of the big winners of the night was Miranda Lambert, who won Female Video of the Year for her hit single “Settling Down.” Another standout winner was Luke Combs, who took home Male Video of the Year for his song “Forever After All.” The coveted Video of the Year award went to Chris Stapleton’s “Starting Over.”
The night was also a celebration of rising stars in the industry, with singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson winning Breakthrough Video of the Year for her song “Things a Man Oughta Know.” Other winners included Kelsea Ballerini, who won CMT Performance of the Year for her performance of “hole in the bottle” at the 2022 CMT Music Awards, and Kane Brown, who won Collaborative Video of the Year for his song “Famous Friends” featuring Chris Young.
The CMT Awards also recognized the importance of country music’s roots, with a special performance honoring the late Charlie Daniels.
